Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the CTEK CS FREE portable battery charger. It's an AC to DC and DC to DC, 12 volt 20 amp portable charger. That's right folks. So with this, you're not gonna need any use of jumper cables. The adaptive boost safely revives dead 12 volt lead asset and lithium batteries in just minutes.

There's no jumper cables or second vehicle needed. This is pretty impressive too. You can power this whole thing, charge it in about an hour's time, a little bit less than an hour actually, and that's pretty neat and impressive in my opinion because some of the other ones that we carry in different brands, they take up to four hours to charge and do the same amount of power. So pretty nice. You can charge the initial battery from an AC outlet, solar panel, or another 12 volt battery.

It's totally up to you, so it's pretty nice and nifty how that works. You do have the USB-C and the charger cable that comes with it, and you can use that to charge cell phones and different devices that need that. And then on this end, you have the yellow power adapter matches up to that yellow, so yellow, yellow. And now you can put this on the battery and do your thing. And what's cool is if you hold the power button and power this on, one, you can see some of the status lights.

I don't know how well they're gonna show up on the video today, but if you hook this up to a battery incorrectly and cross these or anything like that on the battery, it would give you a red error. Like this would turn red if it was on a battery. And these will never spark, so they are made to not spark each other. It senses those crosses and prevents any sparks and arcs and those dangerous things that are, you know, what you're used to in the past with other brands on the market and other components again from the past. So again, great new technology.

You do have an option for a wall adapter sold separately, and of course you have a couple charge ports here, as far as again, putting in those USB-C and USB-A ports to power, like I mentioned before, those cell phone or other devices that need it. It's pretty compact, not too big. Let's get a quick measurement of this overall. And if I go from end to end the most outside, I got about nine and thirteen sixteenths, not quite nine and three quarter inches somewhere in there. And then on a width, overall, I'm gonna say about three and seven eighths, again outside to outside. And then on the height, earlier I measured this and I got right about three and one eighth inches tall, so not too big, not too bulky. The cable length, if you undo the hook and loop stretches out an impressive 39 inches long. So again, just connect this to an outlet. It's gonna become a battery charger with smart charging and maintenance is gonna prevent overcharging. It could extend your battery's life and there's no more guesswork. It does have a nice countdown here, different numbers and LED lights for whenever you know that it's ready to be used. And then you know that the other battery is charged and ready to go as well that you're charging with this. So again, compact, durable, built for road trips, built for camping. And again, it doesn't come with it, but you can purchase separately, if you already have solar panels, you can purchase adapters that would plug into your solar panel and then be able to recharge this unit. You can literally take a good battery and charge this, and then charge another battery at the same time with it as well. So the technology in here is pretty smart and pretty nice. So one last thing before we go. They do carry or offer separately a nice case for this, again, sold separately, and I went ahead and had one of them pulled for our video today. So you can purchase item number CT98FR separately. It's a nice case, it's a nice waterproof case and everything too and everything here, your manuals will fit right in there. The CS FREE will fit right here. Your charging box can fit here, and all your other cables will fit nice and snug and tight right inside of here. And then whenever you're done with it, you can put this in a toolbox, maybe under a seat, or behind something, maybe in a storage area on your camper, RV, or trailer. So again, just a great addition.
